Topping-out ceremony for GEWO residential complex Speyer-West

Some 200 visitors attended the celebration on Friday, 2 September 2016, to learn more about the project by GEWO Wohnen GmbH. Approximately four months after the start of construction, main contractor Züblin Timber has celebrated the topping-out ceremony for the Speyer-West residential complex together with the client.

The three new residential blocks with 36 units and approx. 3,300m² of gross floor area were designed by Munich architect Christoph Schneider with as few barriers as possible in order to allow residents to remain even at an advanced age. Züblin was closely involved in the project planning, carried out under the teamconcept partnering scheme, from the beginning. The four- and five-storey solid wood residential complex was built with 5,200m² of LENO cross laminated timber around a reinforced concrete core. The contract has a value of about € 4.9 million, of which € 800,000 is accounted for by the timber construction.
