ZÜBLIN Timber receives BIM Award 2018 in the category Processes/Organization

v.l.n.r.: Andreas Amorth, Nikolas Früh, Thomas Wieland

Companies and projects from Baden-Württemberg were shortlisted for the competition, focusing on new ideas and developments in the areas of processes / organization, research / teaching, crafts / SMEs or very special Projects.

ZÜBLIN Timber's laser scanning method for the quality assurance of the special formwork elements of the large Stuttgart 21 project was awarded in the category Processes/Organization. The coveted award was received by Nikolas Früh from Früh Engineering, who developed the process together with the project team of ZÜBLIN Timber.

By using this newly developed process, the geometry of the finished formwork elements  is checked with millimetre precision, to ensure the high demands on shape and consistency. The control data is derived directly from the architectural model and compared with the measured values in a digital workflow. The result is presented in a protocol and made available to the project team and client in a cloud.
