Wood creates a special warmth, satisfaction and comfort - both in the processing and in the finished building. That's what makes working with it so special for me.

Michael is a construction and project manager in timber construction

Michael became aware of ZÜBLIN Timber through a lecture with project presentations during his studies. Today, he is particularly enthusiastic about the overall package that the profession of construction and project manager offers.

  • As a construction and project manager, I get to experience the interaction between the two 'worlds' every day. I move between the construction site and the office, organizing processes, coordinating those involved and at the same time being close to the action on site. That's what makes it so exciting for me.

How did you hear about ZÜBLIN Timber?

I first became aware of ZÜBLIN Timber during my "Timber Construction and Finishing" studies at the Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences through a lecture with project presentations by the company. Even back then, I was fascinated by working in timber construction and quickly developed the desire to join the superstructure sector as a construction and project manager. I found it particularly exciting to have the opportunity to travel all over Germany on various construction projects and get to know different cities.

What makes ZÜBLIN Timber a company?

For me, ZÜBLIN Timber is characterized above all by the working atmosphere. Working with colleagues from different areas on a wide range of projects is always something special. I also appreciate the great trust placed in me as a young site manager. This also includes the responsibility that I can and want to take on.

Why did you decide to become a construction and project manager? What appeals to you about it?

I love the overall package that the job of construction and project manager offers. I like being out on the construction site, helping out and solving problems directly on site. At the same time, I find the organizational tasks in the office exciting, such as coordinating with the client or subcontractors. The interaction between the two 'worlds' is what makes the job for me.

What do you find special about wood as a building material and working with it?

Wood has fascinated me since I was a child. The versatility of the material and the possibilities it offers never cease to impress me. Wood creates a special warmth, satisfaction and comfort - both in the processing and in the finished building. That's what makes working with it so special for me.

You are currently responsible for timber construction at the IGEWO residential complex in Haunstetten. What are the challenges or special features here?

What is particularly nice about the project is the collaboration with the colleagues from ZÜBLIN Augsburg. The IGEWO Haunstetten project serves as the basis for many other joint projects. I am particularly impressed by the high degree of prefabrication made possible by our production. This means that the buildings are erected very quickly and the construction site looks different every day. One small challenge is the tight construction schedule. Precise coordination is required here to ensure that everything runs smoothly in the end.

What advice would you give to someone who would like to join ZÜBLIN Timber in construction and project management?

If you want to work in construction and project management, you should be aware that the tasks are associated with a high level of responsibility and the workload can be demanding. At the same time, it's an incredibly fulfilling job: after a successful day, I go home feeling satisfied and proud. That's what makes the work so valuable to me.
