New T3 office building from ZÜBLIN Timber certified with wood from Hier®

- Certificate handed over at the new Aichach headquarters
- New standards in sustainability, climate protection and regional value creation
The newly constructed T3 office building not only looks aesthetically pleasing, but has also been designed with sustainability and ecology in mind. The Holz von Hier® certificate was presented today in Aichach. With this award, the project sets new standards in terms of sustainability, climate protection and regional value creation.
ZÜBLIN Timber's new headquarters in Aichach was completed in just 15 months and ZÜBLIN Timber moved into the new building at the beginning of October. With 123 modern workstations, the building meets all the requirements of contemporary office environments.
The five-storey building cube was planned and built according to practical, economic and sustainable aspects. From the certified wood used, to the practical and efficient floor plan layout, to the sustainable technical equipment and supply, the new building boasts numerous innovative details. The building also meets the Efficiency House Standard 40 in the use phase and thus fulfills the requirements of the EU taxonomy for sustainable investments. The building has also been awarded the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) certificate.
A total of around 720 m3 of wood from sustainable forestry was used, of which around 450 m3 was LENO® cross laminated timber, which was awarded the Holz von Hier® climate and environmental label thanks to the short supply chains.

Holz von Hier® is a recognized eco-label that is now represented in eight European countries. It recognizes wood products that not only originate from sustainable forestry, but have also been produced in a particularly climate-friendly manner in short supply chains. This is because transportation along the entire supply chain from the forest to the construction site accounts for the majority of the carbon footprint of timber products.
According to a study by the World Economic Forum, 80% of the climate protection potential in the construction sector lies in the supply chain. Certification according to Holz von Hier® consistently takes this into account. "This is the only way that the regional added value of timber construction can develop for the entire supply chain," says Philipp Strohmeier from Holz von Hier®.
