Award for the "Collegium Academicum in Heidelberg" project

• Award ceremony at the LIGNA Hannover

On May 27, 2025, the award ceremony for the German Timber Construction Award 2025 took place at LIGNA in Hanover. This prize is considered the most important award for timber buildings in Germany and honors contemporary buildings made of wood that have been erected in this country. Every two years, the prestigious award ceremony puts the spotlight on innovative timber construction architecture.

The competition for the award took place in November 2024. Architects, structural engineers, building owners and timber construction companies were invited to submit their projects. DGJ Architektur GmbH submitted the Collegium Academicum timber construction project in Heidelberg and took us on board.

The German Timber Construction Award went to the modern school building in the New Construction category. The architects were presented with the award. They accepted the award on stage together with our Armin Bischofberger and representatives of PIRMIN JUNG's structural engineering department.
