ZÜBLIN Timber welcomed the Flemish Minister-President to its company premises
- Visit by Flemish Minister-President Matthias Diependaele and his business delegation
- Factory tour with a variety of insights
- Flemish-Bavarian exchange on digitalization, sustainability and circularity
On 18. November 2025, ZÜBLIN Timber welcomed the Flemish Minister-President Matthias Diependaele together with a delegation of Flemish representatives from business and politics as part of a trip to Bavaria. The Belgian wood and furniture industry association Fedustria, which helped organize the visit, made this meeting possible in order to present innovations in the wood industry. It is nice to see that even visitors who at first glance do not belong to the industry dare to look beyond their own horizons to other industries in order to find possible synergies.
During a short welcome in the in-house canteen in Aichach, the group of around 50 people was welcomed by Matthias Diependaele himself, the CEO of Fedustria, Karla Basselier, the technical division manager Tom Bosman from STRABAG Belgium and the technical division manager of ZÜBLIN Timber, Roman Kreutmayr. In addition to information about ZÜBLIN Timber, several projects were also presented, including the Gare Maritime in Brussels, the Court of Justice in Antwerp and the MOLENO® serial timber hybrid construction system. Afterwards, the delegation, divided into two groups and equipped with headsets, was able to gain an insight into the company's own production during a factory tour. In the halls, the visitors were particularly interested in the robot, which can mill complex and high-precision free-form shapes, such as the chalice supports for Stuttgart 21, as well as the Hundegger panel processing system. The LENO®-ADD production, which enables cost-effective and time-saving construction, was also on display. The exciting afternoon was rounded off with a Flemish-Bavarian networking reception in the Löwenbräukeller in Munich.
The program item at ZÜBLIN Timber was part of the delegation's three-day trip to Bavaria. This included visits to various companies and institutions in and around Munich. Among others, the delegation visited BMW, Airbus, AB InBev and the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging. The focus here was on the exchange between the two regions. The visit to Aichach also focused on the topics of digitalization, circular economy, quality assurance, recruiting young talents and social housing.
In addition to the exciting company visits, the political exchange was not neglected: immediately following the company visit, a political meeting took place between Minister-President Matthias Diependaele and Eric Beisswenger, Minister for European and International Affairs of the Free State of Bavaria, in the Bavarian State Chancellery. Diependaele was also able to speak with Hubert Aiwanger, Deputy Minister-President and Minister for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy of the Free State of Bavaria, during his visit.
