ZÜBLIN Football Cup 2026 – The Holzhacker fight their way through to the final

• 36 teams competed for the cup
• A great event at the DFB Campus in Frankfurt am Main
• The Holzhacker secure second place

On Friday, 12 June 2026, the big day finally arrived: the ZÜBLIN Football Cup took place on the impressive grounds of the DFB Campus in Frankfurt am Main – a venue where the professionals usually train. The perfect setting, then, for a high-calibre and exciting day of tournament action!
 
A total of 36 teams competed against each other on six grass pitches. Among them were our defending champions from Aichach, the ‘Holzhacker’ from ZÜBLIN Timber. Their goal was clear: they wanted to take the trophy home, just like last year.

The team consisted of Marco Altmann, Thomas Högg, Nico Lutz, David Burghart, Jakob Heggenstaller, Marcel Hofer, Wolfgang Winter, Emre Aygün, Sarah Reissner, Florian Eckert, Wolfgang Jakob and Kristoffer Wildt (not pictured).

A strong performance right from the start
From the very first minute, the energy on the pitch was palpable. The Holzhacker proved themselves to be a real team, highly motivated and strong on the ball. Even in the group stage, our team impressively demonstrated that they were among the favourites. In fact, they conceded just one goal all the way to the final. With confident performances and nerves of steel, they secured their place in the final. In the semi-final, the Holzhacker won 4–3 on penalties against SC Ing.hochbau, thereby fighting their way into the grand final!

A dramatic final
In the final, our Holzhacker faced the EASTIE BOYZ from ZÜBLIN’s Eastern Division. Despite great effort and fighting spirit, they were ultimately defeated 0–2. The EASTIE BOYZ thus secured the title, and the Holzhacker handed over the baton to them in a spirit of fair play.

A successful finale
After an intense day of competition, the evening brought some well-deserved relaxation: At the prize-giving ceremony, the successes were celebrated in style before the small party got underway. With live performances by the ZÜBLIN band and beats from DJ Maximus, the fantastic day drew to a close in the best of spirits.
 
The Holzhacker have once again shown what they’re made of.
A huge well done to the whole team for this strong performance.

And one thing is certain: in 2027, the Holzhacker will be back on the attack to reclaim the title!
