- Ten interested girls visit Aichach
- Insights into the office, factory and practical tasks in timber construction
- Girls' Day shows prospects and inspires enthusiasm for trades and technology
Looking at our company premises from the outside, it is hard to see the impressive variety of professions and activities that characterize our company on a daily basis. At this year's Girls' Day, however, our visitors were given precisely this special insight. Between the office and the factory, they were able to experience at first hand how varied our work in timber construction is and, above all, the people and job profiles behind it.
The exciting day started with a welcome and a brief company presentation. After a safety briefing and after the girls had been provided with safety equipment, a tour of the entire company followed.
The girls then had the opportunity to get to know various professions. First they went to the production of our timber construction elements. Here, the girls were allowed to lend a hand and build a small birdhouse as a tangible souvenir of the day. They were also given more information about the daily tasks of carpenters and the benefits of the trade. They were then given an insight into the technical office, first in theory and then even hands-on at the employees' workstations. Here they were able to get to know the areas of statics and construction as well as the apprenticeship as a draughtswoman. Afterwards, our visitors were given information about the T³ office building, which we built for ourselves. They were also able to find out more about the profession of planning coordinator and learn more about women in construction.
At the end of the day, there was an overview of all the training occupations and degree courses on offer, followed by a round of feedback.
open up perspectives and make it possible to experience professions in which women are still underrepresented. This is exactly what Girls'Day creates space for. One participant said: "I was surprised at how many people and different professions it takes to be able to do all this at ZÜBLIN Timber."
Girls' Day is a nationwide day of action that encourages girls and young women to get to know professions in the trades, technology, mathematics, natural sciences, IT and research. We have been using this special day for many years to inspire young talents for the exciting world of the construction industry, especially timber construction.
