What significance does wood have in our lives?

On May 3, the exhibition "Wood makes things" was launched at the Aichach City Museum. The exhibition is open until the end of 2024 and provides information and interesting facts on the topics of sustainability and environmental awareness. The connection between people, trees, forests and the raw material wood plays the central role. Just as the environment and sustainability are key issues in our society, the exhibition is aimed at a wide audience. Whether sustainable toys, Klo2Go or a model that shows the latest research results - the exhibition allows a wide variety of perspectives on the topic.

The project, which was conceived as a traveling exhibition, started in 2019 and will continue to be visited at various locations throughout Germany in the future. Numerous diverse exhibits from different subject areas, from history to technology and art, come together here. Some of the content is conveyed in a playful way, e.g. through hands-on stations.

However, the special exhibition not only shows exhibits and conveys interesting facts about wood, trees and forests, but also aims to offer experiences. What do trees smell like, what do the different types of wood feel like? This and more can be experienced in the city museum. Visitors can also go in search of a partner with a groom's oak or relax on a wooden lounger from ZÜBLIN Timber in front of the museum. For children, there are wooden toys to try out, a Punch and Judy show and their own puzzle booklet.

What's special: The exhibition grows like a tree, i.e. institutions as well as private individuals can submit digital exhibits at any time in addition to the analog ones.
As a local timber construction company with a long history, we are delighted to be able to support this extraordinary exhibition.
