Adlershof student village, Berlin

Student accommodation offers particular advantages for students who are new to the city: finding a place to live is easy, the rent is affordable and it is quick to make friends.


The buildings in the Adlershof Student Village are constructed using solid partition wall construction with sand-lime brickwork, featuring floor slabs and flat roofs made of reinforced concrete. The façades, including the bay windows, were prefabricated as highly insulated, weather-resistant timber-frame elements. They are predominantly clad with a composite thermal insulation system – i.e. plastered – whilst the bay windows are clad in timber and their roofs are covered with zinc sheeting. The energy concept is based on the KfW Efficiency House 40 standard. This entailed stricter requirements regarding the airtightness and thermal insulation of the entire building envelope.
