Aquatics Center, London

Visitors to the Olympic Games in summer 2012 were able to experience the elegance of the building from the inside: how the curved roof with its perfect soffit of 35,000 wooden slats floats above the pools and defines spaces, how the diving towers grow out of the base as concrete sculptures.

  • "I have seen many sports facilities in my life. But I was overwhelmed when I entered the London Aquatics Centre. Everything here is outstanding: the harmony, the quality, the innovation. It is a masterpiece."

    Jacques Rogge
Chairman of the International Olympic Committee
