Freibergsee boathouse, Oberstdorf
Nestled in the incomparable panorama of the Oberstdorf mountains, the Freibergsee natural pool in Oberstdorf in the Allgäu region offers a wide range of leisure activities. A new multifunctional building has now been built on the northern shore according to the plans of Oberstdorf architect Max Dünßer. In addition to a boat storage area for boat hire, premises for the Oberstdorf water rescue service and a tourist information area have been created.
A spacious wooden terrace landscape offers the opportunity to relax and unwind.
Two separate wooden structures were connected with a kinked saddle roof. The structure takes up the terrain and opens up towards the lake. The part of the building facing away from the water will be used to store the boats at the rental station. We supplied Zimmerei Berktold with their LENO® cross laminated timber construction system. The wood for the production of the building elements was felled in the community's own forests. This made it possible to create a building with a low CO2 footprint using local resources and short transportation routes.
