Clubhouse Yacht Club, Prien am Chiemsee
Sleek and slender, the building with its light, loosened wooden façade looks a little like a very elegant shipyard building from the old days. 3.5 million euros had to be raised for the construction. In contrast to the previous building, which was severely damaged by the flood of the century on Lake Chiemsee at the beginning of June 2013 and triggered a completely new construction, the new clubhouse is offset two meters to the south. 530 concrete piles had to be sunk between 9 and 14 meters deep into the difficult subsoil in order to safely support the continuous concrete floor slab. The modular timber construction method proved to be ideal because it allowed the project to be completed on time and within budget. A circumferential, accessible balustrade allows guests and residents to really feel like they are on a ship and no space is lost due to an internal staircase. In total, 5,200 cubic meters of space have been converted, on a usable area of 1,500 m².
