Elephant Park, Zurich

The entire roof was built on a falsework and assembled with nails and screws to form a box girder construction. The column-free span is around 84 meters. The entire roof has skylights of different sizes ranging from 1 - 43 m², which are closed with air cushions. A laminated veneer lumber panel (KERTO®) was used as the top layer. In addition to the roof, the façade was also constructed using timber. The Zurich Elephant Park is regarded as an impressive example of sophisticated timber construction involving large spans.
