Höllentalangerhütte, Grainau
If you want to climb Germany's highest mountain - the Zugspitze - you first have to go through hell. The beautiful Höllentalangerhütte is located above the Höllentalklamm gorge, popularly known as "die Höll". A few years ago, ZÜBLIN Timber supplied Holzbau Eder from Bad Feilnbach with around 2,100m2 of LENO® cross laminated timber elements and also planned the timber and steel construction for the new replacement building. The timber surfaces were partially assembled on both sides in exposed timber quality. Helicopter inserts were used to transport the pre-assembled timber elements from the air.
The Höllentalangerhütte is a generally accessible, managed Alpine Club hut in the Wetterstein mountains (DAV Munich-Oberland section) with overnight accommodation at 1,387 m above sea level. It is the ideal starting point for mountaineers to climb the challenging Zugspitze via the famous Höllental route. But it is also an exceptional destination for mountain-loving families for day tours or as a hiking base. Source: DAV
