Joseph Foundation, Bayreuth – MOLENO®
The Joseph Foundation realized 23 rental apartments in the Von-Helmholz-Straße in Bayreuth using a timber-hybrid construction method. The focus here is on cost-effective living space and the conservation of natural resources.
The MOLENO® wood hybrid construction concept scored points across the board here, as the combination of the building construction with the pellet heating system means that CO2 emissions can be reduced during the implementation of the construction project and during subsequent operation by complying with the BEG 55-EE standard. ZÜBLIN, Bayreuth division, was responsible for the overall project. ZÜBLIN Timber produced and supplied the high-quality, serially prefabricated timber exterior wall elements for the construction project.
The four-storey building was constructed on the first floor using conventional solid construction with exposed concrete and on the upper floors with a non-load-bearing timber structure and a timber façade.
Timber hybrid construction combines timber with conventional construction methods. Both types of construction have advantages which, when combined as a MOLENO® construction system, make it possible to construct buildings faster, more flexibly and with greater economic benefits.
