MEGA store, Stockach

The new MEGA store in Stockach, a 145 m long, 100 m wide building, is a specialist retail center and wholesale market. We supplied around 800 ready-to-install elements made of Kerto-Ripa^® (roof and floor elements for large spans) for the roof construction to the "Holzbau MEGA Stockach" consortium.
The architect appreciated the fact that the hollow box elements meet the F 30-B fire protection requirement and no additional measures are required. The longest elements measure 13.1 m with spans of up to 10.5 m. This was decisive for the choice of material, as the planned roof could no longer be realized economically with metal sandwich elements. The Kerto-Ripa^® elements with 300 and 360 mm rib height cover the flat roof areas as well as the barrel construction made of glulam trusses. The 24 skylights are made of curved LENO^® elements and clad on the sides with LENO^® cross laminated timber. The roof elements are structurally dimensioned as ribbed panels, but were designed as a box girder construction and finished at the Aichach plant with thermal insulation and a visible underside made of color-treated Kerto^®-Q (laminated veneer lumber panel).
