High-rise residential building "Treet", Bergen (NO)

At around 50 meters, the world's tallest residential building in timber construction was built in the Norwegian port city of Bergen in autumn 2014. The building, whose name "Treet" is derived from the English word "tree", consists of prefabricated, stackable timber modules that form the apartments, as well as a load-bearing timber frame construction made of glued laminated timber, which provides the necessary stability.

A maximum of four of the timber modules, which are already fully equipped with insulation, flooring, electrics and fitted wardrobes, are stacked on top of each other. Every fifth floor is reinforced with concrete slabs, which not only improve the structural properties of the building, but also serve as a platform for the next four floors.
