Waltenberger Haus, Oberstdorf

The Waltenbergerhaus in the Allgäu Alps is an inviting hike at an altitude of 2,085 meters. It is a managed DAV hut run by the Allgäu Immenstadt section, very close to Oberstorf.

In 2016, we delivered around 1,322m3 of LENO® cross laminated timber elements to the Thaddäus Berktold carpentry company for the new accommodation for all mountain enthusiasts. The building material arrived spectacularly from the air. As there was no material ropeway to the mountain hut, the elements were pre-assembled and transported up by helicopter. The new wooden building extends from the first floor to the top floor, only the cellar was concreted. The modern wooden building welcomes its guests with light-flooded, spacious lounges and sleeping areas.
