Stuttgart21 - A mammoth project with unique methods. It is the largest German expansion project in rail transport since the 19th century: four new railway stations, 120 km of new railways, over 10,000 new jobs, 100 hectares of new land, sustainable urban development and two new urban districts - to name but a few. Here, thanks to innovative approaches and the use of digital working methods, Ed. Züblin AG is expanding the limits of construction in reinforced concrete construction. Building 4.0 is reality here. ZÜBLIN Timber is responsible for the creation of the formwork parts for this project.

Maggie's Oldham nominated for the AJ Specification Award

The complete shortlist of 61 architectural offices and product supplier teams at the first AJ Specification Awards has now been officially announced.

The AJ Award recognizes the best architecture and innovative use of great products and materials.

These new awards recognise both the importance of collaboration between architects, suppliers and manufacturers to the success of any project, as well as outstanding case studies using products and materials creatively for great buildings.

As part of the project team, ZÜBLIN Timber is delighted that the Maggie’s Oldham project is shortlisted for this prestigious award.

The scope of work covered by ZÜBLIN Timber included the design, manufacturing and installation of all timber elements including the world's first use of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) Panels made from Tulip Wood hardwood.

The winners will be announced in Manchester on 15 February 2019.

Maggie's Oldham receives the National RIBA Award

RIBA Announces 2018 National Award Winners

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has announced the 49 winners of the 2018 RIBA National Awards. As part of the project team, ZÜBLIN Timber is delighted that the Maggie’s Oldham project is one of the winners.

Deep hole drilling system for predrilling wood construction screws in beech and deciduous woods

The MERK TBS is a deep hole drilling system for pre-drilling wood screws in BAU beech and hardwood. The internally ventilated and thus cooled drill tip enables effortless and accurate drilling of small drill diameters between 5 and 10 mm. With the aid of the cooling compressed air introduced, drilling to a depth of up to 600 mm is possible without any clamping. The application requires a commercially available professional drilling machine as well as compressed air with 4 bar continuous pressure.

A new tool for calculating our cross laminated timber product (LENO®) is now available to our customers online. The program package DC-Statik from Dietrichʹs replaces the previously used program Finnwood. Use the new tool and benefit from many advantages!

Simple and carpenter-friendly input: Fire protection design of components, auxiliary pictures and explanatory texts for unmistakable entries, automatic determination of wind and snow loads, current standards of the countries, comprehensive project management for a clear organisation of all associated data and much more.

ZÜBLIN Timber Project receives prestigious WAN Award!

Studio Andrew Todd's Hardelot Elizabethan Theatre has won the WAN Award 2017 (World Architecture News) in the category "Wood in Architecture" as the best timber construction project.

The award ceremony was held with architects from all over the world on 28 February 2018 at the Grosvenor Hotel in London.

In competition with other major projects by well-known architects such as Norman Foster's Maggie's Centre in Manchester, the award represents a major acknowledgement for the project.

ZÜBLIN Timber was responsible for the manufacture and supply of the curved Cross Laminated Timber Panels (LENO® CLT) used as a structural and finish material.
